Over this past weekend the X Games took place in Cali. The best of the best competed for the gold and to prove to the world they are the number 1 at their sport.
Well one man came out and not only showed he was the best but proved anything is possible. Mike Schultz took home his second Summer X Games Medal (3 total including his Winter X Gold) but this year he took home the Gold for Adaptive Moto X. Adaptive motocross is where athletes with disabilities, Mikes being that he had lost part of his leg in a snocross accident, come together to show that they still are competitive and some of the best athletes in these sports.
Mike has built his own custom prosthetic leg full with shocks built in to it and uses it to compete in Motocross, Snocross, and other sports through the Extremity Games. He came out with a goal to win and win he did. Mike took the lead right from the start and went on to win the Adaptive Moto X event at the Summer X Games!
Congratulations to Mike Schultz on an amazing victory! All the athletes that competed in this event are winners are well for coming out and showing people what is possible even when others might try to tell you it isn’t.
