Mike Schultz and Doug Henry Winter X Games Snocross

Once again Mike Schultz and Doug Henry will be competing at the Winter X Games in Aspen, CO. This Sunday, January 30th, you can watch as they both compete in the adaptive snocross race. Doug is a former AMA champion and one of the few paraplegic athletes to compete in this event. Both have an amazing amount of heart and determination to not be held back by something that would otherwise cause people to quite at many things in life. Make sure to watch the Winters X Games and show some support for these two amazing athletes.

Planet Fitness sponsors paralyzed athlete

Snow cross racer Doug Henry chases medal in Winter X Games

NEWINGTON, N.H. – Planet Fitness, the gym franchise known for its Judgement Free Zone® and friendly prices, is sponsoring snow cross racer Doug Henry in the upcoming Winter X Games competition.

Henry, a three-time national champion in motocross who was paralyzed in a racing accident in 2007, captured a Bronze Medal at last year’s Winter X Games in the adaptive super cross snowmobile competition.

He will compete in the same event at the 2011 Winter X Games, which take place Jan. 27-30 in Aspen, Colo. The event will be televised on ESPN.

“I don’t think anything makes me feel as good as riding,” Henry says. “Since my injury, I’ve learned to focus on the things that I have, and not on the things that I no longer have. Through the X Games and the support of sponsors like Planet Fitness, I’m able to keep doing the things I love. I’m grateful for this opportunity.”

To prepare for the Games, Henry has been working out several times a week at a Planet Fitness gym near his Connecticut home.
